1vs1 BZFlag Tournament 2006
This is a summary of the first 1vs1 BZFlag Tournament 2006; its rules, participants, dates and winners.
41 players were accepted to play. They had been put in different groups according to their Zelo strenght index.
Winners
- Carnage & doc holiday were the finalists, but as a result of the hot tempered "mouse enhancement cheating" discussion they never played the final match.
Rules and Organisation
-
The players first play in 8 different groups and the best 2 players in each group will attempt the finals. The official matches must be declared using the /championship command (courtesy Pimpi's Techologies :). All championship games also count for the 1vs1 regular tournament!
-
Players are put in groups according to their strengh (aka Zelo): "good" players have less chances to fight at early stage of competition!
-
If you have any questions or issues please contact Zongo or DarthValou on IRC or via bzmails.
-
The official servers are 1vs1.pimpi.org:5155, 1vs1.pimpi.org:5160 (Europe, Germany), 1vs1.bzflag.bz:1111 (US) and muriandre.homelinux.org:5154 (Argentina).
-
Maps are random and both players agree on the map before playing. A /superkill command is now available for each player on the 1vs1 servers.
-
If a player has more than 200ms of lag or more than 15ms of jitter, the opponent has the right to refuse the game at any moment of the match. However this must be in the presence of a "referee" (Zongo or DV, for instance) or observers.
-
For the first round, each player play 2 games versus each other opponent of the same group. Each win brings 3 points and a loss 1 point. If a player doesnt show up he/she loses by forfeit. A forfeit gives 2 points to the other players. If a player "disappears" during the game he/she has to give a good excuse (powercut, lightening, earthquake, hurricane...) otherwise the game will be won by the opponent by forfeit.
-
For the second round, the first player in each group will play against the second of another group. Players of Group A will play players of Group E, etc. The games will be played at the best of five. The player winning three matches will go to the next round.
